DIARY 10

In Conversation with Felicity Brand

Felicity Brand needs no introduction when it comes to her minimalist aesthetic and effortless cool. As the Head Buyer of Mode Sportif, her personal style calls to mind the timeless + empowered woman that dresses with careful consideration. We were lucky enough to have a quick chat with Flick to learn a little more about her behind the scenes.

1. Lovely to meet you! Please tell us about yourself. What do you do and where do you live?

I'm Felicity, Head of Buying for Mode Sportif. Originally from London but made the move to Australia two years ago, and now am very grateful to live by the ocean in Sydney.

2. What is your star sign? This means you are ...

Aries... passionate, honest & loyal.

3. What is something most people don’t know about you?

I've never learnt to drive!

4. Favourite holiday destination and why?

North Ibiza — I love the bohemian laidback side of the island. There's some seriously magic about it's tiny beaches, hidden restaurants off the beat and memorable sunsets.

5. My number one skincare secret is ...

I rarely wear make up which helped keep my skin clear. I also highly recommend Emma Lewisham skincare not only is it product that works but it is also the first beauty brand to be carbon positive also which is pretty major.

6. What are you currently listening to / reading? (podcast, playlist or book)

I have been lucky enough to have a cheeky preview of Flight Facilities new album FOREVER (coming soon!), it's worth the wait and a new track particularly called 'Heavy' is one of their best yet.

7. Favourite Fella swimsuit this season?

The Casanova & Chad combo is a firm favourite for me. As a woman with curves it's seriously flattering and this seasons Bandeira green is absolutely stunning.

To me, Summer feels like ...

Fresh seafood, salty swimmers drying in the sun and a cold campari or white wine as the sun goes down.

9. IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM JOB BE?

I can't imagine never working in fashion, I genuinely love what I do.

10. Are there any foundations or causes close to your heart?

Beyond Blue - like everyone these past 18 months have been super tough mentally for me as have been apart from my friends and family in England for far too long. So supporting people with mental health problems is more important than ever.

We name all of our swimsuits under male / unisex birth names or famous male characters throughout history. If you had it your way, what would you name your next Fella swimsuit?

Ludo.
